Paul Ambrose is a recovering drug addict who entered treatment for substance abuse in 1988 at the age of 21. He has been an active member of both Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous for over 19 years and has been involved in various spiritual groups and practices during this time. He is presently completing his PhD in philosophy while working as a freelance writer. Paul hopes to publish further material around the work of Dr. David R. Hawkins who is now his main focus of study and for whom he is greatly indebted to in many ways. It is through his associations with Dr. Hawkins that Paul has drawn much of his spiritual understanding and direction in recent years and he hopes that this work may attract others to pursue Dr. Hawkins work in the future as well. In this way, they might benefit from the work in the same way that he has and thereby pass it along to others just as we do in both NA and AA.

Welch has fought through her own dual drug addiction and gone on to earn a University degree in Psychology bringing a unique perspective to this book. Lane Branden is a pseudonym for a professional writer, a former U.S. Navy Medical Corpsman, a former model, and a former community worker with at risk youth. She also worked with a teenage substance abuse rehabilitation center for over a year. Her hobbies are reading, writing, working with her pet therapy trained dog, and baking bread and cakes. On the positive side, opportunities abound in our nation and Lane is dedicated to helping others learn how to take advantage of them. Her mobile vocational program called “Up, Up and Away,” created and managed by her while an undergraduate, and in cooperation with the City of Baltimore and its Youth Agency, received a mayoral award for its success. The only cost to the city? A once a week bus and a driver. All other activities and products were volunteered.
